This all sounds much more positive than I had feared. The targets are indeed good. And I wouldn't really presume to give you advice. You've been doing this long enough to know yourself. But I do worry that you might be overdoing the hip. If you can't put any weight on it, how are you walking without crutches?
And you must get cleaning services, of course. Can't you just go over dimwit's head and speak to a big cheese? I just hate seeing you so frustrated at every turn. You have enough to worry about without these added things.
Wish I were closer to help.

Sadly not - but I have friends and neighbours who happily loan out their teenagers for such jobs!

Your Smart Targets sound excellent. Now, would you like me to kick some smart into a few backsides to get the services sorted out? I am thrilled for you and your increased mobility, Ruth. Being able to be human is imperative. Will your cleaner clean bunny hutches?

Ohai Lindykat,

Still got about a third of the tin of bag balm left - it's really gloopy so a little goes a long way: On my hands; my feet; the sheets; the carpet; the cat! I'm onto my third pair of cotton moisturising gloves too. It does help my hands heal, after the redness goes down though the sulphate in it turns the dead skin yellow; very attractive!

It's great to be back on my bike; and swimming and doing yoga and burnig off all the fat I put on with the cooked breakfasts, while I as away! It as lovely in the Hebrides; calm and quiet with great, open spaces; nothing and no-one around but desolate peat moors - beasutiful!

Fantastic news, Ruth!
Your trip sounds like it was just what you needed at a wonderful time for you. Cooperation with your hip...FTW! Biking and not needing your crutches have to be two great ego boosts. Woot! Woot!

Is it time for another round of bag balm? Let me know if it helped.

The Cheezmeet was incredible. An Janet...truly Dame fits her. Have fun with Claire and Yvi yourself.

Hooray on all counts!! I kept checking here, and I'll admit I was worried! Now I feel much better - and I'm thrilled to hear that you are, too!

I knew you were off on a nice vacation - Claire told me. Also sounds like just what the doctor ordered!

My biking was going along just fine - I might have been able to keep up with you. but we've had rain in the past couple of days and I haven't been able to get out at all. And now we're off tomorrow - very early!! to the Cheezmeet in Ohio with Lindycat. And Sarah Beech - and I hope Turtlol. Driving with me will be Whiskers and her husband Sean, Salleh and Zski (wendy from Chicago). Wish you could be there, too!

And walking without pain! Triple whoo hoo to that one!

That all sounds super positive - glad that you seem to be assembling a good team around you. And with all that cycling you'll be coming out to join us in Vietnam tomorrow?

Wow. Good news - things are going your way at last!!!! It all seems to be coming together and now you cankeep up your positive thinking in a much more relaxed state. Glad you've been out on the bike. This weeks good weather should perhaps give you more chance to do a bit more. You've still done more than I have - done no more than 5 miles at a time for ages!

Your kick butt attitude is getting things done, Ruth! Slowly, but surely, you are back out in the fresh air. Has the bag balm helped at all?
